Hilton Head Island Executive John Munro
A executive with more than four decades of experience in hospitality, John Munro most recently served as VP of hospitality, resort sales, and marketing at Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. He spent more than 25 years in various roles at the Hilton Head Island company, managing a portfolio of more than 400 vacation rentals, overseeing a $2 million marketing budget, and directing in excess of 10 departments with more than 100 employees. John Munro joined Sea Pines Resort in 1998 as director of lodging.
John Munro previously served as director of lodging at The Club Group, where he oversaw reservations, food and beverage, maintenance, and housekeeping. He also launched a rental vacation business with more than 150 rental homes and villas. He began his hospitality career at the Players Club, a boutique hotel with 190 rooms.
Complementing his experience, he holds a bachelor of science in hotel and restaurant management from Purdue University. In addition, he is a past recipient of the South Carolina Hotelier of the Year award from the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association and holds membership with multiple professional organizations, including the American Hotel and Lodging Association and South Carolina Tourism Expenditure Review Committee.
